The Boquín familily traces its roots in both Honduras and Central America from the 16th century; they have contributed and continue to contribute to the overall economic, social, political, religious and cultural development of Honduras — and in particular to the city of Comayagua.

During the 19th, as Honduras went through its transformation from colony to a free and independent state, members of this family attained the the highewst leadership positions.

As both both a geneological study and a well documented history this book will fosters knowledge about Honduras, and in particular, about the city of Comayagua.

And more than that: it is a tribute to the name and family of Boquín — to the men and women, both past and present, who have given lustre to our beloved country.

Finally, in this book I wish to present the Boquins as a nuclear family that has made and continues to make a significant contribution.

La familia Boquín tiene sus raíces en Honduras y Centro América desde el siglo 16; ellos han contribuído y siguen contribuyendo al desarrollo ecónomico, social, político, religioso y cultural de Honduras, y de manera especial a Comayagua.

En el siglo 19, miembros de está família alcanzarón la dirección del Estado de Honduras durante y después de su transformación de colonia a un estado libre e independiente.

Este libro es un estudio genealógico e histórico en forma documentada para contribuir al conocimiento de Honduras, y de manera en particular a la ciudad de Comayagua.

Y es más: es un homenaje a los Boquín — hombres y mujeres, tanto del pasado como del presente que han contribuído al engrandecimiento de nuesta querida Honduras.

En conclusión lo que intento es presentar que la familia Boquín ha tenido y tiene un aporte signifícativo como nucleo famíliar.
